These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in the Build with AI – SF Hackathon, taking place on March 21–22, 2026 at 995 Market St, San Francisco, CA 94103. By registering and attending, you agree to be bound by the following terms.
1. Eligibility & Registration
- Participation is open to all individuals who register and are accepted into the event.
- Participants must be at least 18 years of age or have explicit parental/guardian consent.
- Organizers reserve the right to accept or decline any registration at their sole discretion.
2. Event Rules & Conduct
- All participants are expected to act professionally and respectfully toward fellow participants, organizers, sponsors, and staff at all times.
- Inclusivity: We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of background, identity, or experience level.
- Zero Tolerance: Discrimination, harassment, bullying, or any form of abusive or threatening behavior — whether in person or online (including Discord and other event channels) — will not be tolerated.
- Online Etiquette: Maintain professionalism in all online interactions related to the event, including chat rooms, forums, and video calls.
- Organizers reserve the right to remove any participant from the event — including disqualification from prize consideration — for misconduct, failure to adhere to these rules, or any behavior deemed harmful to the event or its community. No refunds will be issued in such cases.
3. Project Requirements
- All projects must be built primarily during the hackathon period (March 21–22, 2026, 10am–5pm each day).
- Projects must address a real, tangible problem and demonstrate a working prototype with genuine functionality.
- Projects must go beyond generic chatbot wrappers and must meaningfully incorporate AI to create real impact.
- Teams are responsible for ensuring their project does not infringe upon any third-party intellectual property, patents, trademarks, or copyrights.
- Use of pre-existing open-source libraries and APIs is permitted and encouraged, provided proper attribution is given.
